Q. How does the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary 50/50 Lottery draw work?

The 50/50 draw administered by Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is a raffle licensed by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO – RAF1232080) where individuals purchase ticket(s) for the opportunity to win 50% of the total money raised through the sale of 50/50 tickets.

Q. Where does the other 50% of the proceeds raised go?

The other 50% of the proceeds raised supports the purchase of new Diagnostic Equipment.  To learn more about Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and our programs, please visit www.huntsvilleauxiliary.com .

Q. Who is eligible to buy 50/50 draw tickets?

If you meet the following criteria, you are eligible to purchase 50/50 draw tickets:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of purchase
  • Must be located in the Province of Ontario at time of purchase
  • Must not be one of the following:
    1. Members of the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary 50/50 Committee Team members
    2. An employee of the Alcohol Gaming Commission of Ontario
    3. Any employees of the supplier of the 50/50 System who are involved with the development and/or support of the 50/50 System


Note: Prior to the purchase of a ticket online, you will be required to verify your eligibility and that the information is complete and accurate.

Q. Can I play more than once in a game?

Yes. You can purchase more than one ticket per event or game.

Q. What are the odds of winning?

The odds of winning the prize are based on the number of tickets sold.

Q. How is the winning number drawn?

A unique winning number is randomly generated and issued by the electronic 50/50 system out of the numbers purchased online for that particular draw. The mechanism for selecting the winning number is a computer-based random number generator that has been certified by the AGCO.

Q. When is the winning number drawn and posted?

50/50 Ticket Sales close on the last business day of the month. Once the winning 50/50 number has been drawn and posted, you can find it and the prize amount:

  • Announced on the Moose FM 105.5 radio station
  • Displayed on the online Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary 50/50 ticket purchase website www.huntsvilleauxiliary.com
Q. How do I claim my prize?

If you have the winning 50/50 number from our online website, please contact the Auxiliary at hhauxiliary5050@gmail.com. You must complete the required winner claimant documents in person at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop located at 100 Frank Miller Drive, Huntsville, Ontario, P1H 1H7 within three (3) weeks of the draw date or to our volunteer
 

The winner will then be paid by cheque within three (3) weeks of the claim date. You must present the text message/email of your online winning ticket along with two (2) forms of identification (including a government-issued photo ID). The winning ticket cannot be tampered with (Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary reserves the right to deny winnings if the ticket has been reproduced or changed from its original state).

Please note: Online ticket sales must be claimed by the individual named in the original purchase transaction. The Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is not responsible for any division of the winning prize amount to any other party other than the individual named in original purchase transaction.

Q. What currency is the prize money paid in?

All transactions and winnings are paid in Canadian Dollars. Prize will be paid by cheque payable to the winner.

Q. When can I expect to receive my winnings?

Prize winnings will be paid by cheque within 30 days of the completion of the claim process.

Q. Do I need to live in Ontario to play?

You do not need to live in the province of Ontario to purchase a 50/50 ticket but you do need to be physically located within the province of Ontario at the time of purchase of your online 50/50 ticket to be eligible to play.

Q. How can I pay for my online 50/50 ticket?

Our online 50/50 website accepts the following payment types: Visa, MasterCard.

Q. I cannot access www.huntsvilleauxiliary.com.  What should I do?

Per AGCO regulations – please be advised that you must be located within the province of Ontario at the time of your purchase. Your device’s locations services must be turned on to verify your location prior to entry to the online 50/50 sales platform. Users must also agree to all Terms and Conditions outlined.

Q. I purchased a 50/50 ticket but did not get my numbers. What should I do?

If you purchased your 50/50 ticket but did not receive your numbers, please check your junk or spam folders in the event it was flagged by your email provider. If you still do not have your 50/50 ticket, contact the Auxiliary at hhauxiliary5050@gmail.com and our support staff will re-send your raffle numbers (some verification will be required). If your transaction completed successfully, your numbers will still be part of the draw.

Q. I think I, or someone I know, may have a problem with gambling. What should I do?

Q. Why does www.huntsvilleauxiliary.com  require my location and/or why am I receiving the following prompt: Ex "www.huntsvilleauxiliary.com  would like to use your current location?"

Your current location is required to confirm eligibility. The raffle will be offered throughout the Province of Ontario (the "Raffle Area"). Void outside the raffle Area and where prohibited by law, rule, or regulation.

Q. What if I already selected "Don't Allow"?

Reloading the page should cause you to be prompted to share your location again. If you have specified that you never want to share your location, you will need to go into your settings to allow. See below for instructions.

Q. What if I receive the following prompt: "You must allow your browser to share your location to purchase tickets, please click "OK" to reload this page, then be sure to allow your browser to share your location when prompted"? The browser should reload the page and ask you to share location upon loading.
Note: In some browsers, the popup may say "close" instead of "OK"

Q. I entered the incorrect email and did not print my tickets, how can I get my tickets resent?

Please go to the Contact page and request that the raffle Manager email you your tickets.

Q: What if I cannot purchase tickets on www.huntsvilleauxiliary.com due to location issues?

You may have told your browser to never share your location. You need to change that setting to allow sale.

Q. When I am trying to process a transaction it is not working? What can I do?

Please remember that when you are filling in the personal information at the checkout page the address you input must match the address of the Credit Card that will be used for the transaction. Please ensure all fields are inputted correctly.

Q. The site is not loading properly, and I am not able to get to the checkout page, what can I do?

Based on the browser you are on, please go to the settings then history and clear cookies and cache. Once completed please close the page, reopen and try again.


For iOS devices:
1) Go to the Settings App.
2) Go to Privacy.
3) Go into Location Services.
4) Ensure "Location Services" are on.
5) Scroll down and click "Safari Websites."
6) Make sure that Allow Location Access is set to "While Using the App."

Chrome has the same setting if you are using that instead.

For Android (though this may vary by version):
1) Go to Settings App.
2) Go to Location and make sure that it is on.
3) Go back to previous screen and go to Apps.
4) Go to Chrome.
5) Click Permissions.
6) Ensure that Location is enabled.
Note: If still experiencing problems, go to maps.google.com in your browser and see where it places you.

Location Troubleshooting Steps for Microsoft Edge

If you're encountering issues with location services while using the Microsoft Edge browser on your Windows desktop, it's likely due to permissions related to geolocation access. To resolve this, you can adjust the location permissions within the Windows system settings and the Microsoft Edge browser settings.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Windows System Settings:
    • Access Windows Settings by clicking on the Start menu button and selecting the "Settings" (gear-shaped) icon.
    • Navigate to Privacy Settings and click on "Location" in the left sidebar.
    • Enable Location Access by toggling on the "Allow apps to access your location" switch.
    • Review and manage app permissions, including Microsoft Edge and Maps.
  2. If still encountering issue, check Microsoft Edge Browser Settings:
    • Open the website in the Microsoft Edge browser on your Windows desktop.
    • Access Edge Settings by clicking on the three horizontal dots (or "More" menu) at the top-right corner of the browser window and selecting "Settings."
    • Scroll down to "Cookies and site permissions" and click on it.
    • Under "Site permissions," select the website entry, and click on "Reset permissions."
    • Retry accessing the website and try a purchase.
    • Grant Location Permission in Edge (if prompted) by clicking on the option to allow the website to access your location.
